Harvest
Harvest Relies on Hatchery Fish
Most harvest of Endangered Species Act-listed upper Columbia spring Chinook salmon and steelhead trout occurs lower in the Columbia River and is tightly managed. Much of the harvest there targets hatchery fish while letting wild fish return to the spawning grounds. Harvest of listed upper Columbia spring Chinook and steelhead remains low.
